April-2003

NEWSFLASH:

The Moscow 4-H Club came out and spent a day (in spite of the downpour), and practiced getting their ponies ready for the summer. If you’re interested in a great 4-H Group, give me a call and I’ll put you in touch with their leader.

Dr. Kim Bartholemew, an area Chiropractor, has worked on a couple horses at the barn in the past few months.I must admit…I was the biggest skeptic.Have never really believed in chiropractors but I’ve once again been proven wrong. My mare and one of the other boarders’ horses seems to be moving much more freely and evenly. My mare seems able to perform maneuvers she has had great difficulty with in the past and is much happier.Previously she was dragging the toes of her back feet and kicking up dust as she walked and she is now picking her feet up better.

We had to put Roo to sleep so, say a kitty prayer for him.He was our most awesome hunter and such a lover cat. We’ll miss him.

Upcoming Events @ the Barn:

·Saddle Fitter (David Gilpin)-April 12th & 13th.By appt.– call Janice

Update on Hurricane:Hurricane was coming along splendidly; however, it seems that he haschronic Juvenile Arthritis that may be with him forever. In addition, he has osteomyeletis (which evidently can recur for the remainder of his life). He remains with an incredibly sweet demeanor through all of this.He also is still a Stud Colt so his sweetness is really amazing in view of this and the fact that he has spent most of his time in a box stall.

Hurricane seems to be one of those critters that comes along and just grabs onto your heartstrings and makes your want to keep, protect and love him.As a great lover of animals; however, I must continue to remind myself that just keeping an animal alive is not always the humane or right thing to do.Sometimes, the hardest part of loving is just letting go.Hurricane will remain a bright spot in my heart.

KEEP RIDING AND BE SAFE!
